University Police has openings for the position of Auxiliary Officer (AO). Auxiliary Officers are uniformed student employees who assist in providing safety, security and traffic control on Penn State`s University Park campus. Individuals in these positions support University Police at campus events, including but not limited to: Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) sporting events in the Bryce Jordan Center; Rec Hall details; HUB socials and concerts; Bryce Jordan Center events; Student Arrival Days; and Ag Progress Days. The AOs also provide security in and around the residence hall areas and provide staffing for the Safe Walk Service. All AOs are paid for training and are provided a uniform with the exception of footwear. All majors accepted. Employees must be full-time Penn State students during the regular school year, willing to work varied hours during the day and night, and are required to work all football weekends, Student Arrival Days; THON; and Commencement Ceremonies. If an AO decides to work through the summer, they are required to work July 4, Arts Fest and Ag Progress Days. This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. If driving, a valid driver`s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
