Description

The Child Care Center at Hort Woods is seeking candidates committed to the process of creating and providing high quality learning environments for children and families. Position is for an infant/toddler teacher. Responsibilities include supporting and maintaining high quality classroom standards in a laboratory setting; coordinating and implementing an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues; establishing and maintaining relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers, supervisors, and families; providing oversight and training of interns and student teachers in early childhood education undergraduate programs; and for maintaining standards in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Human Development or Early Childhood Education preferred. Previous work experience using the Environmental Rating Scale (ERS), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and PA Early Learning Standards (ELS) highly desired. Candidate must be flexible, interested in long term professional development, and communicate effectively. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of re-funding.
