Systems Design Specialist (Technical Lead)
This position will serve as the Technical Lead for the email and calendaring enterprise system for Office 365, and the collaborative suite of applications within the platform. This includes providing email, calendaring, and collaboration tools to support all faculty, students, and staff at the University. It requires tenant administration, staying abreast of and implementing new applications, provisioning and deprovisioning accounts/users, and troubleshooting and resolving issues. Additional job duties include: managing the Office 365 tenant; ensuring the risk profile of the service aligns with standards and policies; designing, testing, modifying, and implementing improvements and changes to the Office 365 tenant; and monitoring performance, capacity, availability, and service of Office 365. Also, this position is responsible for evaluating and implementing future enhancements, capabilities and new applications of the Microsoft suite as well as integrations with current and future enterprise systems. Develop technical and functional requirements, allocate system resources, and manage documentation in addition to testing and implementing new applications that align with the University's risk profile. Determine and provide support capabilities to technical staff across the University to empower and enable them to be responsive to their customers. Provide timely communication and support of changes within the tenant administration that will impact service offerings. Provide technical leadership for resolving issues to end users and other technical staff. Lastly, this position will be responsible for staying abreast of new technologies to improve and/or expand related products and services. The successful candidate will have previous experience leading a technical team and serving as a technical expert for enterprise wide service offerings. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
