This position serves as the Service Manager and IT Manager for the communication and collaboration tools for Penn State, including Office 365 and other applications and will coordinate the portfolio of products that make up the communication and collaboration service for Penn State, including Office 365. This position requires stakeholder collaboration to determine needs, managing the adoption of services, as well as managing the service budget. Additional job duties include: staying abreast of developments in communication and collaboration technologies and tools; working with architects and stakeholders to develop and communicate the service's roadmap with internal and external stakeholders; coordinating and managing the evaluation and implementation of future enhancements and collaboration tools; oversee and coordinate the adoption of the service across the University; communicate the value of this service; develop and foster connections with colleges, campuses, and administrative units to support this service for Penn State; determine and provide support capabilities to technical staff across the University; and provide training and learning opportunities of the new applications. During the adoption phase of the project, the Service manager will be responsible for collaborating with IT colleagues for planning and management of operational support for the service, including identifying business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating allocation of resources, defining and communicating project milestones and service level agreements. The successful candidate will have a proven record of leadership, the ability to build consensus and collaborate among stakeholders, achieve results and goals, and build a cohesive team. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
