Systems Administrator (Application Administrator)
Outreach Information Technology is seeking a System Administrator (Applications) that will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the computer information systems that support core business functions primarily focusing on packaged, off-the-shelf, vendor-hosted applications. This position will be administering, managing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting several applications in the OIT environment, primarily focused on Outreach’s Canvas sandbox and supporting Outreach’s use of applications that integrate with Canvas. This position’s expertise will prove useful as they serve as a technical adviser and often the primary implementer for changes, including new requirements, upgrades and testing. Candidates should have strong documentation skills and familiarity with change control processes and be able to work effectively with business organizations, understanding their needs and showing tact and judgment in developing specialized solutions and analyzing/diagnosing specialized challenges. This position requires excellent communication skills to enable them to facilitate discussions with both the business units and the vendors providing the applications. This appointment requires some after-hours work for emergency support. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and the ability to advance Outreach’s diversity initiative. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
