Description

The IST Office of Undergraduate Recruiting seeks an intern web programmer to be the primary developer of a cyber competition system to be used by high school students. The project will result in a high quality web system to deliver new challenges to participants on a monthly basis. The intern will be expected to work relatively independently to meet the goals and objectives of the project. Highly qualified candidates will have at least three semesters of programming experience in any programming language (e.g. Java, Python, C++), some experience in web programming (HTML, JavaScript and PHP), experience with SQL database programming and experience with Linux operating systems. Familiarity with other web frameworks and cybersecurity topics is a plus. The intern may be required to attend select recruiting functions for high school students on occasion, which may occur during the weekend and/or early evening hours. The project will span at least 300 work hours, for approximately 10-15 hours per week and the rate of pay will be between $10-$15/hour, commensurate with experience. Qualified students may elect to use this experience as an IST 495 internship. The Intern will report to the director of recruiting and will receive guidance and technical support from an IST faculty member.
