Penn State University’s Business Intelligence group is looking for a highly motivated, strategic minded Business Intelligence Data Integration developer/architect. The individual filling this position will play an important role in expanding Penn State's analytical and information capabilities available in support of the University’s business processes and will have extensive career progression opportunities. Specific responsibilities include the design, development, and implementation of complex data integration processes, using Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), SQL stored procedures, transact SQL, or other ETL/programming tools; mentoring junior developers; providing tier two operational support; and creating documentation. The ideal candidate has proven experience working as a data integration architect, and developer in the implementation of Data Warehousing solutions. The successful candidate will be able to draw from previous experience to demonstrate competency in the following required skills: designing and delivering data warehouse Data Integration/Extract Transform and Load components; using technology platforms such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Informatica, or Oracle Data Integrator; working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or 2016; Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data and application architectures; comprehension of full software development lifecycle; comprehension of project management processes and practices. In addition to a strong commitment to customer service, the successful candidate must: Have excellent at oral and written communication; be self-motivated, capable of working independently and be capable of handling multiple simultaneous tasks; be flexible and maintain critical thinking abilities under pressure; Possess outstanding problem identification/solving skills; possess outstanding documentation ability. The preferred knowledge and skills for this position include: Comprehension of all areas of Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing from both technical and business perspectives; knowledge of student related higher education business processes; PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience; Knowledge of the Oracle database management system and Oracle BI Applications solutions. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.
