The College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) seeks to hire MS and IUG students enrolled in the College of IST to fill Instructional Assistant positions for the Spring 2018 semester. Instructional Assistants are assigned to a particular CYBER, DS, IST, or SRA course, and they work closely with instructors to provide challenging and meaningful learning experiences for students enrolled in the course. There are two types of Instructional Assistant positions - Coaches and Tech Support/Graders. Only Tech Support/Graders need to complete this Penn State application. T ech Support/Graders are responsible for assisting the faculty member with grading (assuming a rubric), feedback on writing, and/or specialized software or virtual labs. The student may also be asked to assist with coaching responsibilities as part of the assigned work. Unless negotiated otherwise, the successful applicant’s schedule must be open during the class meeting time for the course. This is a paid position, although credit can be given if preferred. Review of applications will begin on 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 and continue until the need is met. To be considered for a position, you must apply online and complete the PSU application (including web application and resume only), as well as the IST application located at the following link: https://pennstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bvIfr3A5aCD6dsp. You will not be considered until both are completed.
