The Department of Risk Management in the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University seeks to hire a full-time fixed-term Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor or Professor of Practice of Actuarial Science to begin Fall 2018. The fixed-term designation represents a non-tenure track appointment in the Department primarily emphasizing teaching responsibilities for the Undergraduate Actuarial Science curriculum. While the primary area of expertise required is Actuarial Science, additional expertise in principles of insurance, pensions, property and liability insurance, risk management and life insurance would be useful. This position will include duties as Director of the Actuarial Science program, as well. This position is an ideal appointment for individuals wishing to concentrate exclusively on teaching and related activities such as mentoring and advising. Rank and title will be determined based upon the successful candidate`s competencies, education, and experience. Typically a Master’s degree is required for the Professor of Practice rank. A PhD (granted or near completion) in a discipline related to actuarial science is required for the clinical designation. Teaching experience or substantial business experience is required.
