Analysis and Planning Consultant (Project Management Specialist)
Penn State Human Resources seeks an engaging Project Management Specialist to provide project management leadership on high-priority HR-related projects associated with the HR Business Process Transformation and other departmental business process improvement projects. This role will work with Human Resource departmental staff as well as other University units to understand detailed project requirements, establish success metrics, assess and address risks, develop timelines, develop and implement communication and change management plans, monitor progress, and report status to key stakeholders. Competencies critical to success include organizational skills, adaptability and flexibility, team and meeting facilitation, the ability to work well with others, and the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Candidates must be able to build relationships with stakeholders and exercise independent judgment and discretion. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is highly desired. Formal project management training and industry certification (e.g., PMI) is preferred but not required. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
