Penn State Brandywine invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematics, multi-year appointment (2 years with option for renewal) to begin August 2018, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Normal teaching load is 24 credits (or contact-hours) per academic year. Other responsibilities include advising students, participating in various service and faculty governance activities, and engaging in scholarly or professional developmental activities that maintain currency in mathematics instruction. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment is important. Experience or interest in active and collaborative learning, and instructional use of technology, including online course delivery, is highly preferred. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes, as well as teaching courses at a neighboring campus, as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students, supervise student projects, and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of a Master`s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Mathematics, an ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and to teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
