Penn State Altoona invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Management at the Assistant level beginning August 2018. Applicants must have earned (or be nearing completion of) a Ph.D. in Management or a related field, preferably from an AACSB-accredited business program. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in teaching undergraduate students in at least two of the following areas: strategic management; basic management concepts; leadership and growth of new ventures; management and organization; human resource management, project management; or business ethics. The successful candidate will maintain excellence in teaching, engage in an active program of scholarship that results in peer-reviewed journal publications, participate in service activities, and advise undergraduate business students. Business faculty at Penn State Altoona are highly active and are engaged in meeting the demands of the market and their students. Successful candidates will have the potential to collaborate with students and faculty across disciplines, and become involved with the local business community, student internships/research, and a high-performing chapter of Enactus (formerly Students In Free Enterprise). Additional academic service includes supporting the enhancement of the visibility of the business program by conducting cross-disciplinary and community programs promoting the business program, as well as advising students in the business programs. Located in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania, Penn State Altoona is a largely residential campus of about 3,6000 students offering twenty-six baccalaureate degrees and the first two years of 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors.
