Description

Penn State Harrisburg is accepting applications for a part-time Intramural Sports Game Day Supervisor working in Athletics/Recreation: Intramural Sports. During the months of August through April, the individual will assist in the hands-on coordination and management of the comprehensive intramural sports program under the supervision of the Intramural Sports and Club Sports Coordinator. This position requires the individual to work a flexible schedule including evenings, Monday – Thursday from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and is expected to be present during all scheduled competitions. Duties: Ensure the safe and monitor the fair play of all intramural games and keep games on schedule. Supervise appropriate use and storage of all equipment and provide/delegate game day set-ups and field space. Master/understand all rules of play. Facilitate and work with Intramural and Club Sports Coordinator to conduct referee training and captain meetings. Supervise and actively monitor student intramural employees during games. Candidates should be knowledgeable of software and capable of updating social media sites of games and scores, possess photography and video capabilities and be familiarity with tournament styles (brackets/round robins) and creation of game schedules. Provide on-the-spot ruler interpretation, maintain field cleanliness and monitor equipment. Alert Intramural/Club Sports Coordinator of any incidents/accidents, and provide recap to the games. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required; relevant professional experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of team sports rules; Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and leadership skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to function independently as a member of a diverse team; CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to certify) is required.
