The ReMind Lab ( in the College of Nursing at Penn State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to work on a project funded by the National Institute on Aging examining the precursors to modifiable risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease. The project leverages large national datasets on aging to conduct longitudinal analyses of subjective and objective cognition. Scholars with interdisciplinary interests and training in aging, subjective cognition, depression/anxiety, or activity engagement among older adults are invited to apply. Primary responsibilities of the position include: data management; data analysis (including multilevel modeling) and interpretation; developing and assisting in manuscript preparation; preparing and delivering scientific presentations for regional, national, and international conferences; and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. The Postdoctoral Scholar will assist with project management, coordinating communications across the research team regarding project-related tasks, maintaining internal analytic procedures and quality control, and preparing team, University, and funding agency project reports. Additionally, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop a complementary research program building on the ongoing project. Required qualifications for this position include: a PhD in nursing, human development, psychology, or a related field, with an area of expertise in aging science that matches or complements the proposed project; the ability to work independently as well as contribute to a lab consisting of undergraduate and graduate students as well as other postdoctoral researchers and faculty; proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Mplus) with experience managing and analyzing large, longitudinal datasets; as well as excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, time management, and organizational skills.
