The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education within the College of Agricultural Sciences, seeks applicants for a Programs Manager within the Center for Professional Personnel Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to conceptualize, plan, and implement a variety of multi-day conferences and institutes as well as one day/half day workshops for current agricultural education teachers and pre-service teacher candidates. The successful candidate should be able to work independently with little supervision but also work as a contributing, effective member of the overall team. This position also serves as the liaison between PA FFA and Conferences and Short Courses as the coordinator for the Pennsylvania FFA Activities Week event. The Programs Manager will also work to organize and submit reports for accreditation requirements to several teacher accreditation/certification organizations as well as maintain a program of work for the Center’s activities that is used in the reporting to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Additionally, the Programs Manager will work to coordinate recruitment activities for the Agricultural and Extension Education major at various state, regional, and National FFA events to build and maintain the AEE major, as well as assist with co-curricular agricultural education student organizations. The Programs Manager will also work to maintain an inventory of equipment utilized by Center field staff, faculty members, and student teacher candidates. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Evidence of high quality program planning is required and an Agricultural Education background is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
