Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), a unit of Enterprise Information Technology (IT), is seeking a highly skilled, seasoned Public Relations Specialist to join our team. This position will research and write high-profile communications across traditional and digital media to tell the cutting-edge stories that showcase how new and innovative technologies impact student learning. Primary duties include researching complex subject matter and translating it into stories and press releases to highlight current projects in emerging technologies, learning spaces, and innovations in teaching and learning; inspiring future collaborations with TLT by telling the compelling stories of our faculty; fostering partnerships with faculty that enable the organization to showcase the specialized opportunities that exist to translate their innovative work to larger populations and advance opportunities for publications and grants; and being the advocate for stories that transform education and drive digital innovation. The successful candidate will develop content for print, online and digital media, while collaborating to develop collateral assets such as photography and videography to enhance the content. A key component of the position will be helping to shape the public relations strategy for TLT. Previous writing experience in a public relations position, above-average written and verbal communication skills, and ability to juggle multiple deadlines required. Knowledge of both AP and Chicago writing styles preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
