Penn State Abington seeks applications for the position of Coordinator of Educational Field Experiences in its undergraduate elementary education (PK-4) program. The position begins August 2018. A minimum of three years experience teaching in public elementary school is required; supervisory experience as well as experience with urban schools is desirable. Applicants must have an EdD or PhD in an education-related field. Responsibilities for the position include coordinating the process for student teaching and practicum application and field placement, developing and maintaining relationships with local schools throughout Montgomery, Bucks, and Philadelphia counties, supervision of pre-professional clinical experiences and of student teachers in schools, planning and executing a series of weekly student teaching seminars each semester, conducting formal written student evaluations, maintaining data, managing student electronic portfolios, assigning and supervising additional part-time student teacher supervisors when needed, and assisting students in preparing their PDE Instructional I applications.
