Description

This position supports and assists the Compliance and Training Manager for Student Aid in promoting and monitoring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures governing the administration of the principal functions of the Office of Student Aid. As a member of the Student Aid Compliance and Training Team, the selected applicant will assist the Compliance and Training Manager by: helping to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures; assessing the impact and applicability of new regulations; maintaining a high level of expertise in the use of the Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Student Aid Handbook, Information for Financial Aid Professional website, and NASFAA Tools and Resources; monitoring various information sources and daily updates from professional associations; reviewing federal notices of proposed rulemaking and assisting with the preparation of official office response to proposed rules; and assisting with the maintenance of the Office of Student Aid Policies and Procedures Manual. Other responsibilities include: advising students and families about student financial aid; working with other University departments, such as Admissions, Bursar, Registrar, and World Campus, on common compliance issues; and providing related input into Office of Student Aid staff training and development initiatives. Requires a solid working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional student aid regulations, policies, and procedures. Strong research, critical thinking, and writing skills, as well as exceptional attention to detail are paramount to the selected applicant’s success. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Project management experience and familiarity with one or more student information systems are preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
