The Intensive English Communication Program (IECP), which is housed under the Department of Applied Linguistics of The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for the spring 2018 session. Part-time lecturers are needed for teaching non-credit intensive English courses in one of four levels of instruction, and teaching in an intermediate ESP program. Both positions require course-related administrative duties. A Master`s degree (or Bachelor`s degree and current enrollment in a graduate degree program) in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or in a related field is required. Teaching experience in an intensive English or academic English preparation program where English is the language of instruction is preferred. Successful candidates must show an active interest in ongoing professional development and have a knowledgeable command of the English language. These appointments are non-tenure track, semester-based positions with the possibility of reappointment. Part-time lecturers normally teach one to two courses per semester, or 8-16 contact hours.
