The Pennsylvania State University`s Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the Applied Population Ecology Lab. We are seeking someone .with strong quantitative skills and an interest in reptile ecology. Work will focus on demographics of turtles and snakes and employ long-term mark-recapture data sets to answer questions about aging and demographic consequences of climatic variability. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the opportunity for renewal contingent on the availability of funding. Competitive candidates will have skills in modeling, estimation, and/or optimization, with previous experience leading a collaborative research project and familiarity with reptile ecology is a plus but not necessary. The successful candidate will also have excellent writing and personal communication skills, and a demonstrated desire and ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals. Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline such as wildlife, ecology, biology, or statistics.
