Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all federal, state, and University student aid regulations, policies, and procedures and contributing to the analysis of these regulations and their implementation. Provide telephone, email and paper correspondence, and in-person walk-in advising to students/families regarding the financial process and all related issues. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail are paramount to identifying and resolving processing and communication issues with students and their families, including professional judgement actions affecting their eligibility for aid. Responsibilities include processing and troubleshooting issues of federal, state and University aid programs to include grants, scholarships, work-study, and federal and alternative loan programs. Provide support for aid eligibility related processes. Applicant will be cross-trained in all aid processing duties but will have primary content expert responsibilities for one of the following: University and external scholarship eligibility processing; federal, state, institutional, and private loan aid eligibility processing; federal aid application eligibility processing; student and family communication via written publications and correspondence, public presentations, and web information delivery. Work with other University departments such as Admissions, Bursar, Student Financial Services, Housing, and Registrar. Excellent writing, oral, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of LionPATH, the University’s student system database, is preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2018 with good possibility of re-funding.
