Description

The Pennsylvania State University – Abington College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Criminal Justice at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2018. Candidates should have expertise in either cyber-crime, corrections or juvenile delinquency and are expected to be excellent teachers and productive scholars who will provide service to the students, university, and community. Candidates should be willing to collaborate with faculty and intend to apply for extramural funding. The course load is a 3x3 and the ability to teach both lower- and upper- division courses is highly desirable. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology by August 2018; a J.D. alone is not an appropriate qualification for this position. Penn State Abington serves racially- and ethnically-diverse students, first-generation college students, students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, and a significant international student population. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to helping all students succeed through engagement in and out of the classroom. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. To apply, submit a cover letter outlining research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference. Application material must be submitted online. If you have questions, contact Dr. Fran Sessa, Interim Division Head of Social Sciences (fms11@psu.edu). The Abington College is a four-year college of The Pennsylvania State University and is conveniently located near Philadelphia.
