The Department of Psychiatry at Penn State - Hershey Medical Center seeks applicants for an Assistant, Associate or Professor-level, tenure track faculty position to lead projects in psychiatric genetics with a focus on studies in mood disorders and in underrepresented populations. The successful candidate will join a growing department dedicated to furthering the discovery of the biological underpinnings of psychiatric disease. A PhD in human genetics (or related area) is required. For all positions, preference will be given to applicants with a record of obtaining external funding and publishing studies in high quality peer-reviewed journals, as well as a history of successfully mentoring students and trainees. The Department of Psychiatry is located in Central Pennsylvania, with locations in both Hershey and Harrisburg, providing ample opportunity conducting research in urban, suburban, and rural populations, and in inpatient, outpatient or school settings. The Department of Psychiatry has a strong connection with many other departments in the medical center and at the University Park campus of Penn State University which provides strong support and collaborative opportunities for research, education, and clinical activities.
