The Hospitality Services Food and Beverage Department at the Penn Stater Hotel is looking to hire a part-time Restaurant Supervisor. The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for floor management/supervision of meals, special events and room service. Candidate is expected to be proficient in all line level restaurant and bar duties. Responsible for managing Micros and banking operations, reservations, sales reports and opening and closing duties. Interact with internal and external customers and departments, resolve issues and complaints, and assist staff in the smooth execution of flawless customer service. Lead team briefings, monitor and document employee performance, manage and discipline line staff. Train staff in proper procedures and act as a role model for Guest*Pride standards. Assist the Manager with scheduling employees for required training sessions. Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for customers and staff, take corrective action to resolve issues. When necessary assist the Culinary Staff in expediting food orders and buffet items. Supervise the monitoring of temperatures of buffet items and take corrective actions if needed. Responsible for the security of liquor inventory when on duty. Monitor staff in the sale and service of alcoholic beverages. Perform all necessary duties as assigned by the Manager for the smooth operation of the restaurant. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, reliable, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work hours are various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Prior server/trainer/leadership experience is highly preferred.
