Description

The School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg invites applications for a part-time Graduate Program Recruiter. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating and strengthening networks with local public and non-profit organizations, hospitals and community health centers, alumni, and partner universities and colleges; meeting with decision makers in local organizations to determine educational needs and communicating needs to the Professor in-Charge of each graduate program in the school; clearly communicating program ideas and expectations; traveling to traditional recruiting events and serving as school`s representative; recommending and helping implement strategies for recruiting students; and designing and implementing measurable strategies for recruiting events. Position requires a Bachelor`s degree, but the preferred candidate will hold an Master’s degree in one of these fields: public administration, criminal justice, health administration, homeland security, or political science. Additional experience includes strong relationship building and business development experience (existing network in the Dauphin/Cumberland/Lancaster/York County areas preferred); knowledge of government/public policy/health policy educational needs, and higher education industry/processes; prior higher education recruitment or corporate/government recruiting experience; ability to work independently and efficiently; strong time management and organization skills with high attention to detail; exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills; proficient with all of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in higher education admissions and/or sales experience preferred. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as assigned and travel as required. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver`s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
