Description

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to work as Customer Service Representatives at each of our recreational buildings. Customer Service Representatives are responsible for creating the “first impression” for Campus Recreation facilities and for monitoring and controlling access through membership management software and similar systems. Responsible for greeting customers and providing exceptional customer service, including providing information on Campus Recreation program areas or directing customers to appropriate staff when necessary. Will perform sales, program registration, and equipment check-out; assists with building security and guest sign-in. Answers telephones and helps enforce policies and procedures. Attend staff meetings, and maintain professionalism at all times, either while assisting members or attending to other work tasks. Customer Service Representatives possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends as necessary. Familiarity with cash handling / sales procedures is preferred. First Aid/CPR/AED certification required. Positions are available year-round. Applications will be kept on file through July 31, 2018 and will be reviewed as positions become available. Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness, wellness, and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200,000 sf Intramural Building, the McCoy Natatorium, the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area, a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts, the White Building, Adventure Recreation, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellness Programs, and Intramural Sports.
