Description

Two postdoctoral positions are currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Reyad Elbarbary in the Center for Orthopaedic Research and Translational Science (CORTS) at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The primary focus of research for these positions is to establish: the role of non-coding RNA in bone and cartilage tissue homeostasis and disease. The role of retrotransposons in osteoarthritis and the associated development of chondroregenerative therapeutic approaches. Candidates with expertise in the musculoskefetal and RNA biology fields are encouraged to apply. Experience is required in: Mouse genetics, husbandry, genotyping and surgery. Molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid purification and analysis and IP/Western blotting. Histology techniques including sectioning, staining and microscopic imaging. Cell culture, gene silencing, and targeted genome editing techniques.
