The College of Agricultural Sciences department of Food Science is seeking students and non-students for the Fall 2017 semester. Duties to include: Conduct organized research in the area of food chemistry/food microbiology including: Perform independent literature searches and prepare summaries of topics pertinent to ongoing and future research; prepare summaries of research projects conducted in the laboratory; conduct research under the direction of the PI leading to peer reviewed publication; assist PI with grant preparation; perform analytical procedures and protocols as directed; Collect and analyze data from ongoing research projects; supervise undergraduate and graduate student researchers in the lab. Laboratory management duties will include: Train new students in administrative procedures used in the laboratory; maintain inventory and order research supplies and materials as needed; assure that purchasing card transactions are reconciled in a timely manner; maintain files (electronic) of protocols (assure students provide appropriately formatted and referenced protocols as they are developed) for the laboratory. Some positions may require a valid driver`s license in which a successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
