The Department of Psychology at Penn State, an APA and APCS/PCSAS accredited clinical science doctoral program, seeks an Assistant Director for Child Services in the Psychological Clinic at Penn State. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Clinical Professor depending on background and experience. The Psychological Clinic is the training site for the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology and serves as a state licensed comprehensive outpatient mental health provider for the region. It also serves as a research site. This is a clinical faculty appointment, with a multi-year renewable contract and the opportunity for advancement in rank (non-tenure line). The clinic is among the largest outpatient psychological clinics associated with a doctoral training program in the United States. It provides (a) psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, adolescents, and children, (b) psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, and (c) school- and community-based intervention programs. Responsibilities for the position include coordination of child clinical services, staff supervision, teaching and supervising graduate students in evidence-based therapy and assessment practices, consultation with community agencies, program development, and facilitation of clinical research. Candidates must have a doctorate from an APA approved program, have completed an accredited internship and be eligible for licensure in PA. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of related experience, strong interests in child assessment (including neuropsychological assessment), the integration of science and practice, and the enhancement of diversity training.
