Outreach’s WPSU Penn State seeks an Administrative Support Assistant to perform a wide variety of administrative and office functions. This position provides primary administrative support to our Development, Membership and Marketing departments and backup support to other WPSU departments. Typical work activities include, but are not limited to, management of the daily operations for the Director of Development, Membership Director and Underwriting staff, processing of membership and underwriting gifts and pledges, monitoring development budgets, preparing financial reports and spreadsheets, assisting with special events, handling a wide range of confidential matters; coordination and prioritization of the Director’s calendar and travel schedule; compilation and/or research of information; editing correspondence; responding to requests for information; and attending meetings. Analytical and computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management is required and experience with IBIS and ERS is highly desired. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized and a self-starter and should demonstrate outstanding customer service orientation, excellent oral and written communication skills, and sound analytical skills and judgment. In addition, the candidate must use a proactive approach to managing work and solving problems, quickly adapt to competing priorities and have the ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. This job will be filled as a level 2, level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
