Description

Penn State Harrisburg seeks candidates for a new Multimedia Specialist position to join our growing team. This is a split position between the Faculty Center and Marketing Research and Communications. The Faculty Center is charged, in part, with the instructional design, development, and specialized support of our online degree programs and courses. In consultation with faculty and instructional designers, the Multimedia Specialist will design, produce, and edit multimedia elements, including photos, illustrations, and video, for online courses and special projects. As part of the Marketing Research and Communications team, the Multimedia Specialist will produce multimedia content to promote and market Penn State Harrisburg and its academic programs to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of current and evolving web technologies/protocols, including web accessibility (WCAG 2.0), web standards and best practices related to copyright. Experience in the arts or design disciplines, in particular videography and photography, is strongly preferred. The candidate must be able to use advanced features of tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, as well as software similar to Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills, as well as a demonstrated dedication to quality and customer service. We are looking for a creative professional who thrives in a team-based, collaborative work environment. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
