Penn State’s Office of University Development is seeking an experienced fundraiser to engage corporations and corporate foundations as partners in supporting The Pennsylvania State University. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations and working closely with colleagues both in central development offices and across the University, this position will: Identify, cultivate, and solicit corporate and corporate foundation prospects for major philanthropic investments in the University; in collaboration with other development colleagues and faculty members, develop gift concepts that match donor interests with Penn State strengths and needs; Plan and pursue strategies to secure this support, from initial inquiries to written proposals and in-person presentations; Build enduring relationships with corporate partners through stewardship reports, recognition events, and other activities and communications; serve as a resource to the entire Office of University Development and throughout the University by providing training and support on philanthropic solicitations of corporations and related topics. The successful candidate will also have: Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; a proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team; the capacity to travel, as needed, for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes; a passion for higher education and an understanding of complex institutions; an appreciation and understanding of diverse audiences and communities. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position’s duties is required, as is a valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check in addition to standard background checks.
