Cocurricular Programs Manager 3 (Director, Russell E Horn, Sr. Learning Center)
Penn State Harrisburg invites applications for the Director of the Russell E. Horn Sr. Learning Center. The Director is responsible for leading the Learning Center to achieve its mission of supporting students’ self-management of academic and professional goals through collaboration, guidance, and practice in an environment of inclusive excellence. The Learning Center delivers comprehensive academic support and learning resources (face-to-face and online tutoring, academic skill coaching, workshops) across the content areas and from first-year through graduate levels. The Director designs, manages, and assesses the Learning Center programs and policies; hires, trains and supervises professional staff, including peer tutors and graduate assistants; administers budget; develops strategic plans; partners with faculty, other academic affairs units, and student affairs; maintains a nationally certified peer tutor training program. The Director also manages the First-year Seminar program and co-leads the support for faculty for program assessment. The Director reports to the Sr. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2018 with excellent possibility of re-funding. harrisburg.psu.edu
