Description

You will execute research and development projects in a subset of the areas of cybersecurity, cyber operations, and cyber analytics and work as part of a team, collaborating with other members. Cybersecurity responsibilities include vulnerability analysis and knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications and development, network devices and protocols, and defensive monitoring systems. Capabilities could include reverse engineering and malware analysis. Cyber analytics responsibilities include the development and employment of statistical, stochastical, and machine learning methods for analyzing miscellaneous data sets, which can range from cyber sensor logs to unstructured text. This job will be filled as a level 1, level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (Professional Engineer license accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree) or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The following experience is preferred: Development in MATLAB; vulnerability analysis; network protocols and operations; high level algorithm development for processing data for sense-making; and software development on multiple types of projects. The following experience is required: Cybersecurity operational experience or R&D development; data analytics on semi-structured and unstructured data sets; and programming in procedural and object oriented language. The capability to program in at least one language, if not more (C, C++, Java, etc.), as well as picking up scripting languages and interacting with databases is necessary. Skillsets involving cloud technology will also be considered. You should be should be a self-starter that is capable of learning on the fly. Depending on the project, travel (at least 25% of the time) will be required. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
