The Communications, Information, and Navigation Office (CINO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is looking for a junior or mid-level engineer to join our Synthetic Environment Applications Lab. You will assume a technical leadership role, which requires collaboration with other ARL personnel and sponsors, including significant travel to a government facility in Key West, FL, working in a classified environment. Responsibilities include: Software and system integration; operation and maintenance; data integration; technical task execution; and reporting. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science and Technology, or a related field is desired. Experience developing and integrating end user applications on different hardware platforms, including SCI systems, is preferred. A background in cyber, cloud, advanced computer graphics, databases, web-based technologies, and networked systems, both hardware and software, is required. The successful candidate must have good oral and written communication skills. Travel to Key West, FL, is also required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen. This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment.
