Perform routine maintenance; repair plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and ventilating equipment, including boilers, fans, radiators, etc. Maintain electrical equipment by removal, replacement, and minor repairs to electrical motors, switches, relays, coils, etc. Repair and maintain vehicles, lawn mowers, and other powered equipment including cleaning and adjusting spark plugs, adjusting carburetors, minor tune-ups, etc. Maintain and repair floor maintenance machines, vacuum cleaners, powered hand tools, etc. Repair and adjust door closers, locks, and latches. Maintain boiler water treatment and records; add prescribed chemicals. Inspect, adjust, and repair electrical and pneumatic temperature controls. Inspect, repair, and recharge fire extinguishers. Test and maintain fire alarm systems and emergency lighting system. Lubricate machinery and motors on schedule; carry out organized preventive maintenance program. Replace floor and ceiling tile, window glass, etc. Perform ordinary carpentry work on buildings such as stairs, floors, woodwork, doors, etc.; repair furniture. Operate snow removal, grass-mowing equipment and University vehicles. Lock and unlock buildings at scheduled times; replace burned out light bulbs on buildings and grounds lights. Perform ordinary painting, both interior and exterior. Perform patch and repair work to concrete and asphalt surfaces. Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above. Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training. 2 to 3 years of effective experience. Shift: 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Days Off: Friday, Saturday NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.
