Description

The Office of Information Security is seeking applications for an Information Security Architect. Primary duties for this position include working with university stakeholders for the purpose of providing engineering guidance, developing and presenting technology roadmaps, and designing and suggesting changes to security infrastructure. Duties will include serving as a subject matter expert on university technology initiatives, projects, and procurement activities. This person will also be expected to conduct research on emerging technologies, protocols, services, and standards as well as staying current with emerging threats. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in information security technologies, frameworks, and strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in NIST 800-53 and FISMA, SIEM technologies, firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention technologies. Further qualifications include a strong background in system engineering, network design and concepts, endpoint security, and cloud security. Experience securing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems would be preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate: ability to work cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, students, and outside agencies, outstanding customer service orientation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent analytical, judgment, and organization skills; and ability to work with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or software engineering is preferred
