The Systems and Operations Automation (SOA) Division at the Applied Research Laboratory is seeking to hiring undergraduate students for several positions starting in the 2017 Summer Semester in a variety of areas that involve laboratory work, hardware and software development, field testing, and office work. The SOA Division focuses on the research, development and prototyping of advanced automated systems, health management system technologies and decision support tools for Department of Defense (DoD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and industry customers. Responsibilities include: supporting operations research work on emerging technologies in supply chain management, embedded sensor design, data gathering and analytics, electrical-mechanical systems design, and software development. Selected candidates will be teamed with a full-time research engineer and given the opportunity to participate in government-funded research on cutting-edge systems engineering projects. Students must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in Engineering (ME, EE, IE), Computer Science, or Information Science and Technology and will work up to 40 hours per week during the Summer semester and up to 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
