Description

A postdoctoral position is available at Penn State to conduct research on root traits improving root depth, N capture, and water capture in maize, utilizing the functional-structural model SimRoot. The Fellow will be part of a team researching avenues to increase root depth in maize, including architectural, anatomical, and metabolic traits, and developing novel technologies to phenotype them. The Fellow will employ SimRoot, the leading root model. The ideal applicant will have initiative, expertise in plant or crop modeling, plant physiology, plant/soil interactions, and programming experience (ideally C++). Excellent communication skills desired. The position is available starting July 2017.
