Description

A postdoctoral position is available at Penn State to conduct research on a novel technology to nondestructively quantify root depth in maize. The Fellow will coordinate a team researching avenues to increase root depth in maize, including architectural, anatomical, and metabolic traits, and developing novel technologies to phenotype them. The ideal applicant will have initiative, experience conducting field research with annual crops, and expertise in mineral nutrition, root biology, and plant/soil interactions. Duties will include coordination of activities among partners and liaison with the sponsor, DOE. Excellent communication skills, experience with trace element analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration and experience supervising assistants desired. The position is available starting April 2017.
