The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst to be located in Virginia. You will assume a technical leadership role and be responsible for software engineering, software and hardware integration, technical task execution, and reporting in classified environments. This job will be filled as a level 4, or level 5, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 4. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A background in the following is required: Software development; human computer interfaces; 3D data and modeling; computer graphics; visualization technologies; and information management systems, both software and systems. Since you will be working with other ARL personnel and sponsors, the ability to work and thrive within a team environment is a must; and therefore, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
