The Department of Nutritional Sciences invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Coordinator/Instructor position to assist the Program Director and teach courses for the online Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in the College of Health and Human Development offered through The Pennsylvania State University’s World Campus. This position will be a full-time (48-week) appointment. The appointee will be expected to teach 12 credits per year in the online MPS and assist the MPS Program Director in the day to day operations of the program. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: reviewing and processing student applications for admission; communicating with student applicants; facilitating student scheduling and advising related to course selection and program completion requirements; providing curricular advice to students in the program; implementing processes that will ensure the program is able to recruit and retain high quality students; and serving as primary information resource for students and applicant questions related to the program for professional development and career enhancement. There may be opportunities to be involved with other aspects of teaching in our resident instruction curriculum and to participate in service and extracurricular activities in the department. The desired candidate will have a minimum of a Master’s degree, have their registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) credential, and have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in higher education with at least two (2) years of experience online teaching experience. Candidates with a minimum of one year of administrative experience, evidence of nutrition-related work experience, student advising experience, and excellent communication and organizational skills are preferred.
