The Office of Science Outreach in the Eberly College of Science is currently seeking enthusiastic applications for positions for their Summer Science Camp Program. Successful applicants will engage and educate K-12 youth in a high energy, hands-on science setting on the University Park, PA Campus. Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to fulfill all job duties related to one or more specific positions, including: Lab Coordinators - responsible for organizing materials and supplies, preparing and implementing experiments, and conducting inventory and clean-up; Summer Program Assistants - responsible for assisting the administrative team in preparing materials for opening and closing ceremonies, maintaining various data bases, assisting with marketing efforts such as the Science-U newsletter, and providing on-site assistance at all camps; Camp Videographer - responsible for filming and documenting the science outreach camp programs, taking digital footage of all assigned camp program participants and staff science activities, edit video footage and create short films for camp website and YouTube channel, and deliver completed videos of camp programs by date determined by program director; Evening Mentors - responsible for overnight supervision of residential campers, organizing evening activities, and managing camper safety; Extended Care Facilitators - responsible for supervising campers in morning and afternoon extended care hours. Requirements: Demonstrated success and enthusiasm with K-12 students, excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, experience working with children, and the ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job. Must be a proactive self-starter with willingness to adapt to changing position requirements. Reliability and flexible schedule (including weekend hours and possible evenings during the months of June and July) are essential. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
