Description

The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track (fixed-term) Instructor position to support our undergraduate curriculum in the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development. This position will be a full-time (36 week), non-tenure-track teaching appointment in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. The appointee will be expected to teach 18 credits per year including lower and upper division nutrition courses as needed by the department. Administrative opportunities, as needed by the department, may also be available to the successful candidate with teaching credits adjusted accordingly. Participation in service related activities will be expected. The desired candidate will have a Doctorate in nutrition or a related field or will be earning a Doctorate in nutrition or a related field with only the defense of the dissertation remaining, have experience teaching nutrition courses in higher education, relevant professional experience in the field of nutrition, and strong communication skills. Candidates with a strong background in nutrient metabolism and/or experience teaching nutrient metabolism courses as well as the RDN credential are preferred. Strong candidates with a Master’s degree in nutrition or in a related field, experience teaching higher education, and the RDN credential will be considered. Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. The earliest start date will be Summer 2017.
