Repair, operate, calibrate, and install a wide variety of television, radio, and electronic equipment and test equipment, including CCTV cable systems. Work with exposed circuits where voltages may be as high as 50,000 volts. Conduct tests to measure transmission frequency, power output, frequency deviation, percentage modulation, frequency response and standing waves, utilizing various electronic equipment. Calibrate and plot results on multiple cycle logarithmic graph paper. Read and analyze electronic component and circuit schematic and wiring diagrams. Record measurements and maintenance in accordance with rules and regulations established by the Federal Communications Commission; work with tolerances up to .0005 percent. Use various pieces of hand tools and equipment for servicing and construction of needed components. Keep work and shop areas in a clean and orderly condition. Advise supervisor when stock of parts and components needs replenishment and when new equipment may be needed. Instruct other technicians of same or lower grade in proper operating and maintenance procedures of various television and electronic equipment and related test equipment. Job Requirements: Use of shop mathematics. Work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, and occasionally, drawings and general instructions. Use electronic measuring instruments. Knowledge of application and the use of electronic formulas, fundamentals of electronics, operation of electronic equipment, and FCC second class license requirements for calibration and testing. Equivalent to formal apprenticeship training. Over 3 and up to 5 years of effective experience. Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Days Off: Saturday, Sunday NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER`S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS.
