The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking an accomplished clinical Biomechanist to expand our rehabilitation research mission. Although a board certified physiatrist is preferred, exceptional non-physician researchers will be considered. Research space and a substantial start-up package will be provided in our newly built, 4,500 square foot Rehabilitation Research Laboratories comprised of Exercise, Body Composition, Locomotor Training and Gait Labs. The clinical researcher will have access to the 98-bed Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital and The Penn State Hershey Medical Center, a 500-bed tertiary care teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center with 700 physicians, an NIH-funded Center for Translational Science Institute, and the Penn State Neurosciences Institute. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Medical degree – M.D or PhD • Completion of an accredited residency program • Licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania • Board certification/eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation This job description is a general outline of duties performed and is not to be misconstrued as encompassing all duties performed within the position. Responsibilities • Conduct, assist with and direct clinical biomechanics research • Secure funding for individual & collaborative research projects • Coordinate and assist with intramural & extramural funding for PM&R faculty, residents and medical / graduate students • Assist with PM&R research education and teaching Duties • Coordinate clinical biomechanics research across PM&R Continuum • Coordinate clinical research education for PM&R faculty, residents and medical / graduate students
