Applications are invited for several tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and interdisciplinary disciplines related to these areas will be considered. The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is dedicated to building a diverse, dynamic faculty. Research areas of particular interest are data science, and especially machine learning, and areas relevant to the Internet of Things (IoTs). Applicants will be considered for both the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering Departments. The School of EECS has more than 80 faculty members, 2500 undergraduate students, and 400 graduate students, making it one of the largest and most prominent units at Penn State and in the country. The School of EECS has combined electrical engineering, computer science and computer engineering to provide a unique opportunity to execute interdisciplinary education and research. EECS offers an unparalleled, student-centered collaborative curriculum with multiple degree programs that cut across the school’s three disciplines and address the critical need for innovative and creative engineers for the cutting-edge economy of today and tomorrow. The university is located in the beautiful college town of State College in the center of Pennsylvania. The State College area has 130,000 inhabitants and offers a wide variety of cultural and outdoor recreational activities. The university offers outstanding events from collegiate sporting events to fine arts productions. Many major population centers on the east coast (New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Baltimore) are only a few hours drive away and convenient air services to several major hubs are operated by three major airlines out of State College. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field and should be committed to excellence in both research and teaching.
