Digital Media Marketing Strategist
WPSU Penn State is seeking a goal-oriented Marketing Strategy Specialist for the role of digital marketing and brand collateral coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for participating in online communities, actively seeking station publicity opportunities, and representing the brand persona of WPSU-TV, FM, and digital. The major role of the coordinator is to develop and execute a social media growth strategy, deploy day-to-day content, create and maintain a social media content calendar, and compile comprehensive digital media reports and populate a dashboard of goal progress. As part of our marketing team, the strategist will also oversee the print marketing collateral production. Writing, editing, and a sharp eye for accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage multiple projects is critical. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A comprehensive understanding of social media platforms plus two to four years of digital advertising experience, and evidence of using social media as part of a business strategy is preferred. The flexibility to participate in live TV productions and events at night or on weekends two to three times a month is required. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and ability to advance Outreach and Online Education’s diversity initiative. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
