Penn State Harrisburg, School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin August 2017. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated research excellence in social or community psychology or related field. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate and will teach graduate and undergraduate courses, maintain a strong program of research, guide student research, and provide service. Candidates with strong quantitative skills are preferred. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses in social psychology, community psychology, research methods, and statistics. Applicants must have excellent communication skills along with a commitment to integrity, diversity, collaboration, professional service, and academic excellence. The psychology program offers a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in psychology and four Master’s degrees, including MAs in Applied Psychological Research, Community Psychology and Social Change, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Applied Clinical Psychology. The College is located near the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the state capital, both facilitating collaborative research opportunities. The College is near a major transportation hub that provides easy access to Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, DC.
