The College of Communications is looking for students majoring in film-video, telecommunications or a different major with an interest and skill set related to producing videos and telling strong, short stories in multimedia/video format for a paid public relations/video production internship. The position requires strong production skills, having completed COMM 282 and COMM 383 or COMM 242. Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; Basic knowledge of video codes, and comfort level/experience with content management systems; detail oriented, able to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects at once; Able to work independently and accept critical feedback in order to improve; good writing skills a plus. The selected candidate would work closely with Director of Strategic Communications to produce videos for the College of Communications website and YouTube channel that focus on faculty research, faculty personalities, the student experience in the College of Communications and special events on campus; attend special events in the College of Communications for timely videos; work independently with faculty and students for videos with longer production timeframes; develop and maintain a “look and feel” for videos working closely with Director of Strategic Communications; produce 10-12, minute-long videos per semester — a mix of subject matter from faculty profiles and student experience to more timely videos about on-campus events; assist at special events as necessary; assist with live streaming efforts of College events using UStream.
